On 1 May 2013, for the first time in recorded history, Teh Internets and associated outer regions will be invited to delight in the rich and hidden layers of English and other languages, and the certain interests that unite us all (no matter how dignified we may try to be about it).
The inaugural Double Entendre Day is intended to be a celebration of the humour and joy in all double entendres, though we have chosen an uplifting theme that we hope will strike a chord in some rough times, and you’re invited to engage with it (with our without a shirt from our little web shop):

That’s assuming you want to broadcast any double entendre, of course. Not everyone is like that, and we expect that many people will instead pursue the sweet joy of denial. Imagine trying to avoid uttering an iota of innuendo for an entire day!
There are also those among us who will prefer to hunt alone or in packs in search of conversations where the arguably more rare and infinitely more wonderful unintended double entendre might be found. It is here on these harsh battlegrounds that nudges and winks will echo to the sounds of electric lip guitar (see: ‘bow chicka wow wow’ and other war cries).
We think that if we respect each other enough to not hurt or harass any straights or corrupt any children, then we should be able to play with language for a day in a way that generates a shedload of positive energy.
Or maybe that’s just us.
Tell you what; if it’s you, too, then sign up for our mailing list and you’ll be the first to hear about all current and future developments between now and the first Double Entendre Day (Wed 1 May, 2013).
Other than that, for now, we invite you to enjoy our teaser video, and share it with friends when you’re done. Cheers all.
Mark your calendars. May 1.
